1st How To: Paper Flowers

My first HOW TO tutorial yay. Go to the right hand side under "CLICK TO SEE MORE" Home Living tab for the step by step paper flower tutorial.

My Best Friend Laura's birthday was this month but i couldn't spend it with her :( i currently live in Orlando and she is all the way back in TX, so for the past year we have been forced mail our presents. Well i wasn't about to just mail it in a drab ups box so it became "gift wrapping time"

Boxes with big bows are over rated although they are way pretty, at times, they can be a bit of a cop out so i made paper flowers to decorate her present box.

Home Living

Even before getting in to making accessories i was obsessed with home PROJECTS!
So i am posting a new page under home living tab filled with all my past and present home and everyday living kinda projects. Things like apt decor, gift wrapping ideas, frames, things that my roommate Brandon (the ultimate creative genius) and I have done to make our apt feel like a home, a very fabulous creative "us" home.

Example:
I love walking into Anthropology Store for new DIY ideas, it is amazing and has THE coolest stuff ever! On my last visit i fell in love with this.

I got all the materials i need to recreate this! I'm so excited and hope my version comes out just as great.

I'm having a Moment!

So one of the coolest things about living in a bigger city ( im totally geeking out)  is really well stocked Good Will stores, antique shops, ya know thrifts stores... oh and arts and crafts stores too! I started using old clothes from my closet to make my headbands but i needed variety and raiding my closet wasn't an option anymore, so i took a trip to all my fave thrift and crafts store in search of new material.

Tip:  fabric can be expensive especially good quality rich fabrics so a really good tip is to take a trip to a goodwill store or salvation army type store. someone's trash can be your treasure, there are a lot of clothes that may be outdate and ugly but the fabric may be in great condition and you'll get great quality without the cost.

Even though the thrift shops are great for finding fabric you still need ribbon lots of ribbon and elastic and all different colors of thread. Places like Michael's  and Joanna's are your best bet, they have a vast assortment of materials to choose from but it can be pricey so for your more basic materials you can always try Walmart.

As im walking around Joanna's looking at all the different trims (trims make really cool unique head bands) i came across this beauty.....
"OMG I'm having a Moment"
all i could think of were endless possibilities with a lot less work! but not to worry i will learn how to make this type of flower... i will concur!

New Jewelry Tab:

so im on facebook, typical day, and on the targeted side bar adds there is this add for a vintage inspired boutique named Ruche. http://www.shopruche.com/index.php
Curious, i clicked on the site and looked around for a bit and fell in love with it all! There are so manny beautiful things featured on this site but one in particular caught my eye.

Easter Brooches

So i made new brooches for my Easter outfit. I think they are way cute! I made this awesome flower brooch, the way it turned out, it made me think of a magnolia thats how it got it's name. after i put my outfit together i went to my closet in search of shoes... big fail i only had heels that worked with the outfit but i wanted to wear flats... so what to do in a pinch... it was already sat the day before Easter Sunday... oh why yes, i still had ton of silk left over sooooo i made matching lil rose buds to tie my outfit together and dress up my old worn out black flats. success!!!!

click on the brooches tap under "CKICK TO SEE MORE" on the right.
